QR Codes Classic Legacy Marketing Tips 2011

QR Codes Interest Buyers.

Buyers want in on the secret!   QR Codes are also known as Quick Response codes.   They are readable by scanners and smart phones.  The codes consist of black modules in a square pattern on white background.  More and more marketers are using them for:

  1. Business Card Holders

  2. Display Signage

  3. Clothing and Accessories

  4. Print Ads

  5. Tickets

  6. Contests and Promotions

  7. Realtor Signs

Here is the QR CODE I MADE.

The application that I used for my i phone is QR Reader.   Android phones also have apps for QR Readers. Just hold the phone up to the computer screen and in just a few seconds it will show you the Classic Legacy screen shot with my information.   I created links to my website, links to my blog, written information with my name and phone number, and a photo of some of our latest products.  You can create whatever you would like to highlight for your business.

QRme screen shotQR CODES ARE EASY TO MAKE.

There are several “generators” that are available to make QR codes.   These are the ones that I’ve found to be helpful and free:

  1. http://goo.gl/ This is the Google site.  It is very helpful because it does two things.  It is a tool for make long URL addresses short and then when you click “details”  it creates a QR code!   Click here to see the free code that I created using this tool.

  2. http://uQR.me This is the site that I used to create the bar code above.  What I like about this tool is that it allows me to include photos, text, links  to my website and blog, and if I wanted to I could include video and audio.

Helpful Sites with QR Code Tips

  1. Tech Crunch has good information on Google’s QR Code.

  2. Design for Learning offers tips on QR Codes.

  3. UQR.me has an informative video and lots of tips.

I plan to use QR codes at the next market that I attend.   Think about how you can use them in your business.   Customers and buyers are curious and QR Codes are very interesting!   Be sure and comment and let me know what you think of QR Codes and let me know how you use them.

Social Media Tools and Classic Legacy Custom Gifts

Classic Legacy Custom Catalog Cover I am continually learning about social media and how it can help me better serve our Classic Legacy customers.   During the recent Dallas market I learned about the online catalog website Issuu.   We started out small but we now have a custom catalog available online!   The feedback from our reps has been great!   You can now go directly to the  Issuu website and view the catalog.    Thanks goes to Judy Gardiner of H. Gardiner Showroom for introducing us to this wonderful tool.    These are the other tools that I have recently used to learn.

1.  Online Catalog Issuu…….here is our catalog…..you may want to consider something like this for your store!

2.   Evernote…..I use this as a tool to post everything I want to remember…..I don’t even favorite things now just evernote.

3.  Follow leaders in Social Media such as Mari Smith and Social Media Examiner.

4.  Listen to Free Webinars such as this one with Rick Bakas…..I am learning how Social Media really can help build a business and create a return on investment.

What tools do you like to use?   It is my philosophy that we all learn from each other.   I look forward to your comments!  Be sure to click on the “here is our catalog” link to view the online catalog…..and we have a private version that you must ask permission to see that shows prices.    We did this version with no prices so you could share with your customers!
