Classic Legacy customers ask me where I get my ideas for new products. I am always curious about life.....both the past and the present! I have been transcribing World War II letters written by my husband's grandfather to his grandmother. These letters were in the bottom of an old trunk and had not been touched for years. The letters were tied together lovingly with string and carefully arranged in chronological order. I'm now reading each one and entering them into word documents on my computer. My goal is to send a letter a day to my "distribution list" which includes many cousins and family members. We are getting to know more personally the events of 1943-1946 and all the hardships, trials, joy, dispcipline, and training that they endured. It is my challenge to remain curious about everything and for this Memorial Day of 2010 I am grateful to know Edward Finnell who was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army. Let me know what you are curious about. You never know Classic Legacy may be able to make your dreams come true my creating a custom gift for you! This photo shows one of the letters that have been saved. The paperweight is from the Classic Legacy collection.

I am learning all I can about social media. My goal is to be better able to serve our customers by using all the tools of social media including Facebook. I was recently reading posts from our Classic Legacy customers and realized how important it is for me to understand who my customers are, what they like, what their city looks like, and who their customers are. With Facebook I am able to see many of those intagible things! I want to share with you one of my favorite recent Facebook posts. Pam DeBlieux, of Choates, posted a YouTube video. It gives me the flavor of Natchitoches and even though I've never been there I have a better idea of how to create custom gifts for Choates. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9YBYVjihgs Take a look! I encourage you to use Facebook to share so we can get to know each other better!

I remember all my elementary school teachers and I remember giving them a gift at the end of each year. I admire teachers and think having this day and week set aside in their honor is wonderful. Let's honor our teachers and remember them and say thanks! Some Classic Legacy gift ideas for teachers include notepads, letter openers, and even a teacher bottle stopper. What are your special memories of your teachers?

I just found out that the month of May each year is
National Military Appreciation Month. What a great way to honor our military by taking the time to remember what they have done for us and thank them. I have begun a family project that is related to military appreciation. I am organizing hand written letters written from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. These are personal letters from my husband's grandfather.......and they are a treasure. They are truly making me proud of our military and all they have done for us through the years. My goal is to enter one letter a day into a digital file so they can be saved for generations to come. Recently we just shipped a custom order to a military customer. Through the years the Air Education Training Command has commisioned Classic Legacy to produce custom bottle stoppers for them. These bottle stoppers have been presented as gifts all over the world. I truly appreciate Randolph AFB and the Air Education Training and Command!
